Meet Dave Dee

I'm actually a pretty regular guy who struggled with many business ventures.  I was jumping from one thing to the next looking for something I could do that was fun, that I’d enjoy and would make me a lot of money.

I won't bore you with the details of the failed karate school, the dismal radio sales job or any of the rest of it, but I will tell you this, it wasn’t pretty.

No matter what I did, no matter how much money I made, there seemed to be something missing.  And there was.  My passion.

Abracadrabra

You see, my dream was to be a professional magician. Yep, a magician. And, I’m sure you’re thinking the same thing my parents repeatedly ask me – how can you make a living being a magician?  And for a while I wondered the same thing.  But, that was my burning desire and while I struggled mightily in the beginning, I was committed to making it work.

Against all odds, I was successful … once I learned the secrets of marketing and business.

Once I began to approach magic as a business, I went from doing three paltry shows a month to averaging over 30 each month and I multiplied my income ten times in less than three months.  That was exciting!  Until I realized that while I loved magic, I didn’t love kids’ birthday parties. (Have you ever been to a kid’s birthday party? Now, imagine going to thirty of them a month!)

The problem was I was trading my time for dollars – I had quit my 9 to 5 to follow my passion but, instead, had traded one job for another; only with this job, I couldn’t even call in sick because there was no one to cover for me.  I was getting burned out!

On my way to one of my many kids’ birthday parties, I was listening to an audiotape program in the car and heard something that immediately piqued my interest.  The speaker said I could make tons of money sharing my passion with other people and really help them at the same time.

He used example from all sorts of industries … from training parrots, to increasing profits in business, to playing better golf – and more … to illustrate how regular folks were following their passion, making loads of dee-nero, really helping people and (best of all!) not trading their time for money.

Wow, I thought, that was the freedom I had been craving for so long. I could hardly sleep that night because my mind was spinning trying to figure out how I could make this work for me.

I knew I could do something with magic, but didn’t think people would pay a whole lot of money to learn magic tricks.  What did I know that was unique, valuable and would really help people?

And then at 4am, it hit me like a bolt of lightning.  I could help other magicians book more magic shows!
I went from 3 shows to 30 shows in 3 months and it changed my life.  I could teach other magicians how to do the same thing and help them change their lives too!

The problem was I had NO IDEA how to create products or market them. So I decided to stay inside my comfort zone and continue to do magic shows – even though I woke up each day dreading what I had once dreamed about.

One day, I looked in the mirror as I was heading out the door to my 12th magic show of the week and said, "Enough! I am going learn how to do what the guy on the tape said I could, no matter what it takes.  I want the freedom of a business that isn’t dependent on me, doesn’t drain me and is fun."

Frankly, I thought it’d be pretty easy.  Record a few tapes (this was before CDs), type up some of my notes (before computers too) and like the guy said, I’d be rich, fat and happy!

Ha!  It wasn’t quite like that.  There were so many details I had to figure out, from the little things like merchant accounts, setting my prices and shipping to big things like packaging and letting magicians know I had something to offer.

I studied everything I could get my hands. I read books, listened to "motivational tapes", went to seminars and spent a ton of money trying different things - most of which didn't work.  I was confused, frustrated, and experiencing information overload.  Worst of all, I was making far more money being a magician than I was teaching other magicians.

The Day That Changed My Life Forever

I was at my wit’s end when it finally clicked into place.  I came across Dan Kennedy who was willing to take me by the hand and show me step by step what to do – for a HEFTY price, of course.

The more he taught me, the more I realized that everything I had been studying up until then was DEAD WRONG.  As he showed me, what really worked was counter-intuitive.  Stuff I never would have tried on my own.

For example:  everything I had read said “To be successful I had to find a need and fill it.” This guy taught me that the real secret to getting rich is finding out what people WANT to buy and offering it to them.  A small, but very important difference that made the difference between success and failure.

Here’s another example:  I thought I had to go to trade shows, cold call, and network to meet magicians who would hire me as a consultant to help them.  He showed me that I could be far more effective by sending out simple postcards or placing low costs ad that would get the right people to “raise their hand” and request more information either by mail or phone (and today on the Internet) so I could make money without ever having to talk to anyone.

My dream come true!

The more I learned about real world marketing, most of which flies completely in the face of conventional wisdom and what they teach at Harvard Business School, the more excited I got because I knew I was on the brink of a major breakthrough.

Before I knew it, I was making an extra $10,000 a month in mostly passive income (now that is often a week’s pay) and I stopped booking magic shows except when I was either paid a huge amount of money or had some other special reason.

I finally found the freedom I’d spent years looking for.

Discovering My Real Passion

Soon I started teaching other people how to turn their passion into profits and the more I saw how this was really transforming people’s lives by helping them make a lot more money doing something that they really enjoyed, the more I knew that I had discovered my life’s mission.

Today, my passion is helping people just like you live happier and more productive lives by starting their own businesses which positively impact the lives of other people.

It would be my honor and privilege to be the man who helps you live a life of passion, purpose and prosperity.
